Situated inside Jacksons Opticians in the centre of town we offer hearing tests at the shop or in the comfort of your own home.
Mr ‘G’ of Tintwistle has kindly offered his appraisal of the product and service we offer.
‘I first purchased hearing aids when they were situated on George St in Glossop in 2011. I had small in the ear aids which were virtually invisible. Once a year I get a letter for a free check up which is now at Jacksons where they moved to a few years ago after Jacksons took over George St. The aids were really good although sometimes I still struggled in a very noisy place like the pub. My left aid stopped working once but was repaired under the warranty. I just dropped it off and it was ready for collection a week later.
Two years ago I upgraded the aids to slightly larger rechargeable ones – although a bit bigger than my original aids there are no fiddly batteries to handle. Also the sound quality on these is much clearer than my original set. I don’t get out as much as I used to but when I do I have noticed I can hear much more clearly, despite my hearing deteriorating over the years. I’ve needed the aids turning up a couple of times but Anthony comes to the house to do this which helps me.
I’ve also read quite a bit recently about the possible link between dementia and hearing loss and I’m really pleased I’ve got the aids as it improves my confidence and keeps me a bit more switched on.
The service I get is fantastic. They are always friendly, come to my house and don’t charge for this after service.
