Typically most users would be starting with hearing aids in their seventies but we are seeing that starting age coming down over the last few years quite dramatically.
There are a few reasons why, certainly the improved aesthetics and their ability to be so discreet is one, but the main reason is technology.
Hearing aids can now do what air pods can do ( and are more discreet). They can not only improve hearing ( let’s not forget about that), but they can stream phone calls and music directly from a phone or tablet. They can monitor heart rate and steps as well as allowing the user to programme them via an app and thus really customise sound quality.
As technology progresses we expect the average age of a user to keep coming down. We still have plenty of octogenarians and nonagenarians who are both first time users and repeat buyers of hearing aids. We even have a sizeable number of over 100’s!
We can source every type of hearing aid from every manufacturer from our centres at Congleton, Poynton and Glossop. From simple ‘put in and go’ aids to all singing and dancing technological wonders we have them all.
Rechargeable aids with no need for batteries or opening / closing battery doors now account for a larger share of sales than battery aids. The convenience of saying goodbye to small fiddly batteries is proving a hit with every age group.
